This is not a debate community. In fact, it is not so much a community as a shared journal.
Posting access is restricted. Requests to be granted posting access should be directed to email@example.com. Access will not automatically be granted; I'm looking for a very specific sort of poster for this community. People with insight... people who can be counted on to post essays, rather than posting a 70-word rant on Grady Little's latest managerial blunder.
Although this is not a debate community, comments on posted essays are welcome, whether in agreement or otherwise. For those seeking a spirited debating environment devoted to sport, I recommend sports_debate.
ACTIVE STAFF: jonfmorse: Baseball, NFL, College Football, International Soccer. Jon lives in Virginia, but grew up in the Midwest. He's a life-long Royals, Chiefs, and Kings (Sacramento, formerly Kansas City) fan. He latched onto the North Stars after the Scouts moved to Denver, and thus now roots for the Stars and Devils. He also has a soft spot for the Dallas Mavericks. Jon attended Kansas State University, which is the only college he really roots for, although he always pulls for the Big XII in non-conference games... unless it's a game against a team from the MAC, which makes him feel weird, because he kinda likes that scrappy mid-major conference. He's also tragically addicted to Liverpool in the English Premier League. Jon despises the Cowboys, Redskins, Lakers, Red Wings, and Yankees. Oh, yeah, he also thinks the current commissioner of baseball should be placed in stocks for public humiliation.
frdelrosario: Baseball, NBA, WNBA, NWBL, College Basketball. Frisco lives in the Bay Area. He doesn't like the A's, though, although every night during the summer he listens to the midnight replay of the Giants' game (please don't spoil it for him by talking to him about it until at least 6am Eastern time, even if it's a playoff game, thanks). For reasons which are still a mystery to Jon, he is a Phoenix Suns fan, but does watch the Warriors with some interest.
coldsmoke: Baseball, NFL, NHL, College Hockey. Chris is from New Jersey. Naturally, he roots for the Red Sox, Packers, Stars, and Oilers (the Edmonton variety, not the extinct variety). Okay, the former has an excuse, as he graduated from Northeastern University in Boston. Chris hates all teams from New York (as well as those claiming to be from New York), and always roots for big losers in any sport. Needless to say, he was inconsolable the weekend the 2003 World Series began.
